In tradition of the “Bob” game….

For this week I thought I would put out something fun. Most of the articles focus on current events, and I noticed that we didn’t have anything that you can have a good chuckle over.  And the best part, it can be an ongoing list.

Now just so you know, I decided to do a little research on this to try and match the best alcohol with the best OS. Of course, you may have your own ideas or opinions. If you do, PLEASE COMMENT. If your argument is good, then I will make a change or add to the list.

Always remember – Compute, and drink responsibly. And if you’ve computed or drank too much, please find a designated driver. Must be 21 to drink, but any age can compute.

One hundred days. Imagine a produce department without fresh produce for 100 days. Imagine not stepping into a room for 100 days. Now imagine no new programming written for 100 days. Or wait – was it?

The writers’ strike ended on Feb 13th, just in time for the Oscars. The main issues the writers were bringing up were that they were getting paid for content to be aired on TV. However people also watch the show online as well as downloading clips and pieces to ipods and computers. Many were making money off this new facet, that is, except for the writers.

Another Vocalo.org member, Jesse decided to remix the bit I did on Men who would be celebate for 6 months to get a free 50 inch tv.

This one you might want to wait til you get home. Kinda NS-FW

Last week I sat down with Rabbi Marcello and Reverend John for the Born Again Mac User. We talked about what I do, and how I found Macs again. Pretty fun little segment. Check it out.

If I needed coffee and the internet, I would always avoid Starbucks. Paying $10 for internet just didn’t make sense to me. I always went to Caribou coffee shops because the internet was free. I would get online for an hour, and then if I needed to use it another hour, I would ask for a “Code” in which I inputted and poof, another hour free.

My coffee habits might just be changing soon.

Starbucks will be switching from T-Mobile to AT&T this spring. With this AT&T has changed the prices and connections of the WiFi. AT&T will allow customers to access the internet for free for 2 hours. After that, you will have to pay $4 for an additional 2 hours. This is for the hardcore coffee drinker…. (more on 5min podcast)

I post for Vocalo.org – http://vocalo.org/node/13199 is the article.

Pitfalls of Social Web
ComputerWorld put out an interesting article marked “The Pitfalls of Social Networking”. In the article it lists a lot of downfalls of the Web 2.0. In this new version of the web, we are able to voice our opinions and share information in many ways. Vocalo.org and Geekazine.com are both part of this – otherwise, this show would not be possible. Is Social Networking causing problems?

Here is an alternative look at a program called “Frets on Fire”. It’s all open source, so you can download it at http://fretsonfire.sourceforge.net/

In this demo we will show you the program, and will also show you how you can create your own songs.

I am a Wisconsin Alum (well, almost). I spent 4 years at the University of Wisconsin as a music Major, before I jumped into the world of tech. Now Bucky is going after Intel for Dual Core processing. Will my alma matter win this war?
