I remember the first time I bought RAM. I got 8 – 1 MB chips of memory for $40 a meg. Ah those were the days. Where’s the Pianer?
Nowadays everything is getting “Farmed” – where the item is not directly attached to a single computer. A Hard drive farm allows scaling the size of your shared folders or whatnot with a few clicks of the mouse. If Microsoft and Intel get the Parallel systems running, then processors will also be Farmed out. So it only goes to say that memory is the next thing to go.
Enter in Violin and the 1010 – an appliance that farms out memory. Using the Violin Intelligent Memory Modules (VIMMs), the DRAM based chips will send out memory to where it’s needed. You can use DRAM, NAND Flash or both, and the machine will support up to 504 GB of RAM.
Politics, Life, News, Music, Family, Religion, Personal, Random, Photography, Art, Culture, Thoughts, Food, Poetry, Travel. These are the top “Tag Cloud” items on WordPress. People use Tag Clouds as a quick reference and a way to find new information.
Tag Clouds have not been around that long, although a crude form can be traced back to 1995. Flickr started using clouds, and the idea grew. Now, Tag Clouds are found on many websites.
The other day I was working on a PC-based CAVS player so I thought it would be cool to show you how some machines are used in proprietary systems.
The facial features seem to need work from Bitstrips. But we’ll overlook that and post this weeks’ strip. Bob Barker from the Price is Right.

I have a great online toolbox. Items that help me work with websites, servers and desktops – and the best part is it’s free. Akismet – or Automatic Kismet is a great little tool that keeps spammers from posting nonsense. I can’t say how Akismet has helped out on this site.
If you look to the left bar on the bottom, it says how many posts have been put in the Akismet quarrantine. These are posts that do nothing but try and improve their sites’ ratings. If you were to read them, it would say something like:
…sombody posted a great article on how much they like Akismet…..
