Geekazine will be on the Tech Buzz, a Technology Roundtable with multiple guests talking everything about Tech. I will be on the Friday Free for all, which is an open discussion of many topics. This should be a fun discussion and I will most likely be kept on my toes for the two hours we discuss the news of the week.
You can watch and react below.
This is the live feed of the HP Converged Infrastructure Road Show in Palo Alto, CA. Andy McCaskey from SDR News and myself will be spending all day Thursday, March 11th, interviewing and recording video.
Show has concluded. Videos from event will be up shortly.
This last couple days was a pretty eventful one. Andy McCaskey called me and said – Hey, your going to California. Funny, I wasn’t shootin at no food.
The event is the HP Converged Infrastructure Road Show. It was a 2 day event in multiple cities that ends in San Fransisco – More specifically, Palo Alto – At the heart of IT. Unfortunately, it also happens opening weekend of SXSW, but ya know, it happens.
I am actually not only honored to go, but very excited. As an IT professional in the former life, I still love to keep my hands in the infrastructure and administration. That, and it’s the first time I get to go to the sunshine state. Not the Dairy state – That is my home.
Andy and I will be heading down with one goal in mind – Video. We will be interviewing multiple people in the HP IT world, including Dave Peterson, Bill Allen, Grant Jacobsen and many others in the HP line.
HP Road Show Contest
Oh yeah, once we finish the video, we’ll be having a contest. The prizes are not finalized just yet, but the main prize we were bopping around is something you might want in your arsenal.

During the party – I got to talking to part of the board of directors at the Social Media Club – Madison, WI. chapter. Jessica Binder is the party planner, which we started talking about events. I (in my infinite wisdom) didn’t have a business card to give her. I noticed she had an iPhone, so I suggested we “bump”. She did not know what that was, so we setup and configured the application.
During that time, the chair of MadisonSMC – Marlena Deutsch stopped by to find out what was going on. She, too did not know about this iPhone application. Therefore, we installed and setup her device with the software and collected contact information.
Marlena did ask a great question – is there a field to put in Twitter info. I did a quick scan, but could not find any other place than the nickname.
In this backchannel video, we go through the bump application and learn how to swap contact info with just the tap of a phone.

The last day of the Consumer Electronics show is upon us and we were completely ready for it. Because the 9 person team was so efficient, we were able to cover most of the show in the 3 days. Today it was walking through the International side, catching a couple more interviews throughout the other halls, and of course stream the Day 2 Live Show from the NBC Universal booth.
Kara Karsten joined us on camera since not only did she review the one of two videos we created, but this item became the pick of the day. The Zeo Personal Sleep coach.

Over on Podcast Madness, we gave away an Artisan 810 all-in-one printer / scanner / fax. It has WiFi, Ethernet and USB capabilities and can be used without computer by plugging in a USB drive or compliant memory card.
Names were pulled, then placed into the Randomizer at ranomizer.org. Susabelle was the top name on the list.
Congrats to Susabelle on winning this great printer for Epson!
