Canon 80D Camera with headphone jack

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: iTunes | Android | RSSCanon EOS cameras are great for not only capturing quality photos, but also for creating video for your YouTube channel, or other video projects. At NAB, I got to see one of the latest versions – the Canon 80d Camera. With a wide-area, 45-point, all cross-type AF system, this camera will work in lower light with a luminance performance to EV-3. The camera has a 24.2 Megapixels CMOS sensor to create high-resolution images. The 80D camera will also work well as a video camera. Fast autofocus, built-in Wi-Fi, NFC, and 1080p 60fps MP4 video will allow for great video shots. The base unit comes with an EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 Stabilized USM lens. An optional Røde microphone can be added for capturing video. But the 80D also includes something videographers have been asking for – a headphone jack to monitor audio capture. Canon also...

ChromaKey using ReflecMedia light, backdrop

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: iTunes | Android | RSSMost of us that use Chromakey have painted a wall green or blue. But what if you didn’t have to paint a wall? What if you could put down a grey backdrop, then, with a light, create the chromakey so you can wear that green shirt or blue pants? ReflecMedia has a great solution for your chromakey need. Using a specialized backdrop and a ring-style light around the camera, the backdrop turns the color of the light. A simple system starts at $1900.

Switcher Studio Uses Your Phone for Facebook Live Cameras

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: iTunes | Android | RSSThis is not a new idea, but it is a newer innovation. Systems have tried to incorporate mobile video in their production switchers, but there has normally been a fail, especially when audio is involved. Switcher Studio has worked out that problem and turned their program to all mobile devices. I first saw this program at SXSW when a one-on-one interview was being conducted. Two phones, one iPad (for switching the video content). The phones would connect to the iPad via WiFi, then the iPad would not only swap out the video, but also add lower 3rds, graphics, and pre-recorded scenes. I grilled Switcher Studio on the latency issues. The biggest issue being lag from a phone to the audio track being supplied. I was assured that as long as audio came into the iPad via Lightning or headset, it will match...

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: iTunes | Android | RSSI use Vegas Pro for most of my video post-production. I love the fact it’s a one-time purchase, along with the idea which started in my home town. Last year, Magix purchased the software suite. They have since upgraded both Vegas and Movie Studio software. But which one should you get? Before you start, check out the review of Vegas 14 on Geekazine. Differences Between Vegas Pro and Movie Studio Overall, these are the main differences between the two versions. Sony FutureLab Program N Prototype Unboxing

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: iTunes | Android | RSSWhile at SXSW, I stopped by Sony’s Wow Experience, where I got to see the Program N headset at it’s next phase. Sony was looking for testers of this prototype (along with future items), and I was all too eager to join. For that, I got the product right on site. What is FutureLab Program Sony FutureLab is an R&D division to gain real-use feedback. Instead of having the programmers and employees use the prototypes, they put them out in the wild to see what the population thinks. Currently, there are two prototypes out there. N – the headset I have, and T – an interactive table. What is Program N I am guessing N stands for Nigel – the assistant that comes through this wearable device. The case completely protects conceals the wearable really well. This device comes with two pieces...

Next Generation Technology Concepts at Panasonic House

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: iTunes | Android | RSSOne thing SXSW Interactive brings out is some great concepts and prototypes. I seem to get to try more here than any other conference. Panasonic was there to show off some great concepts for food, clothes, and even a way to become a better presenter. There were several products in the house. I focused on four of them. In the Video We look at Bento, A.M.P, MonStyle and a Social Coaching Device. All but the coaching device is ready for the public. Bento @ YourOffice Imagine you forgot your lunch or it got crushed in the great subway accident of 2017. No worries! Simply pull out your smartphone and order via Bento. Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: iTunes | Android | RSSIs Virtual Reality more than just gaming? Yes. It’s about experiences. I found that out at Capital Factory in Austin during SXSW. Madeline Feldman talks about what we’re seeing while in Austin and what Walmart is showing off on the 16th floor. About Capital Factory A place to work, a place to learn. That is what Madeline told me. Located on the 16th floor of downtown Austin, Capital Factory houses many different companies that just need a space to work. The incubator is open to the public at times to also see and learn. Simply check out their website at CapitalFactory.com.
