Welcome to Geekazine!

Had to work on a laptop, so I thought I would show you all how you can remove a Hard drive from the laptop.

It’s been a while since we did a video pod. This week I am working on putting a new uStream computer together. Because of this I thought I would record some of the techie stuff I am doing to get this up and running.

In the first video, we show you how to remove some of the Thermal Paste on the processor. In the second video, we install the processor, put on new Thermal Paste and install the Heat Sink.

TechPodcasts RoundTable - Sony ACID, Joomla, JungleDisk, Lifecasting

*NOTE* The show video has been posted - check it out by clicking here.

Earlier today I participated in the TechPodcasts RoundTable. John Coonen on Joomla, Andy McCaskey on LifeCasting and Todd Cochrane on JungleDisk. Geekazine has also presented Sony ACID for Podcasting. We talked about what Podcast software is out there, a little bit about ACID and how to record, edit and save a file. The presentation happens at the 42 minute mark.

Lots of great stuff. Posting the uStream event now - Once the GoToMeeting version is posted, we will send off the link.

Live Videos by Ustream

As an IT Pro I know that if you were to say 1,2,4,8 I would follow with 16,32,64,128,256,512. Well, once again today was an odd day so I decided to have a little fun and make a video, which I haven’t been doing lately. Therefore, have fun with “Sequence”. Music is by Kevin Mcleod

Before I recorded the 5 min show and Vocalo segments on Sunday, a user came on and had a problem with their ustream computer. I go through what we can do to deduce where the problem is.

Every Monday we have the LIVE SHOW which goes through tech items like this. 7PM EST.

In this Video we talk about:

1. un-Check the “Ustream High Quality Encoder”

2. Version of Flash

3. Trying the program in another browser.

*Note: if you have firefox with lots of plugins installed, you might want to either uninstall or use another browser.

4. Watch the processes to see why the computer crashes

5. Check the event log to see if any errors pop up.

In this case it looked like her video camera drivers were causing the problem.

Check the Video here:

Kimbalee has not gotten back as to if that problem worked or not yet. Will keep you posted…
