Ramblings 8-16-08

The summer is getting ready to go away. It’s sad, but what can you do? Prepare for the fall. When you do that, you have to prepare for the one thing that makes the Fall best….

FOOTBALL!!

Being a Wisconsin native, a lot of drama has come up with our football team - the Packers. I won’t get into it since this is not the site, but I will say I am happy how everything turned out. And for the record, yes. I am going to watch the Jets this season.

Props to all that are at the #NME. I wish I was in Vegas this weekend networking with you. I’ll definitely be there next year….

It’s another week of playing. Friday, Sat and Sunday. The weekend is always great when I can play music. It’s just a little stressful in getting work done.

I finished reloading my PC. The hardest part was getting one particular piece of software to load. It’s now loaded and I am ready to continue rockin and rollin. Just one more thing to do - BACKUP!

The Podcast rig also got some new cables. I had a heck of a time getting shows out last week. This week in tech history and the main podcast were the only two I ended up with. Every time I did a podcast, the sound would cut in and out. It’s all fixed now (hopefully).

Speaking of podcasts, the 5 minute show got the official name change to the “Geekazine Quickcast”. Of course the main reason why was the shows were not 5 minutes anymore. Working on getting some of the art updated now.

The LIVE SHOW was a lot of fun this week. We had a lot of participation from the guests. We talked about Social Networks and touched on the question of where to go for IT schooling. Thanks to all that joined in. Of course the next installment is Monday at 7 PM EST.

For the last few months I had a service on the website running. This week I took the service off. I want to see if there is a difference without this service. I won’t go into details, but I just want to make sure I am going in the right direction.

That’s it for now. I am running out of steam. Gonna try and do a Vocalo segment today and the TWITH tomorrow. Then it’s off to the Wisconsin Dells to play at the Baja Cantina.
