Ramlings 6-07-2008

I’m doing this one early (from last weeks’ late post) because I have a full day later on today.

This week has been a fun and interesting one. I’ve been working on some independant items that could catapult me into an independent role. We are working on a cool idea and implementing throughout businesses in the area.

Still waiting for the tax stuff to come back. Talked to the irs today and got the ball rolling in the right direction. Hopefully we can get this all resolved quickly.

I joined Plurk - a new Mass IM system like Twitter or Pownce. This one is a little more graphically fun, but I really hope someone makes a good widget for it. Click here if you would like to join.

Also, as I mentioned earlier this week, I joined CrossLoop - a place to go to get help with your computer. My Crossloop link is here. Mention that you saw it on Ramblings and I’ll give you a discount on your first issue. Can’t go wrong there. Best part is I will be incorporating that into the LIVE SHOW on Mondays @ 7 PM EST.

I am continuing on with articles over at geeknewscentral. Last one I wrote is called “How would your desk change with no mouse?” where I talk about new ideas changing the way you work. Check it out.

I have also added to the “About” section. I put up a blurb if you would like to purchase any of my articles or purchase my time to write an article for your website. I figure the more I write, the more I’ll learn and get better at talking about. You’ll, in turn, get some content from another set of eyes.

The Ustream PC is down right now. With the 80+ temperatures, the PC wasn’t responding too well. I have upgraded the Heat-sink and put another (GASP!) fan into the box. I have to reposition it so the noise won’t be too loud. It will be back up on Monday.

Speaking of which, the new recording PC is ready to go. I had it all loaded, and when I went to find my copy of Sony Acid (which I use to record podcasts), I couldn’t find the software. Luckily Sony was able to work with me and get me another copy. I put in my serial (which I DID have) and the PC is ready for Sunday’s show lineup.

I had to skip the Vocalo segment last week, but there will be one this week. I will also be doing the 5 min show for Monday. I put out a call for those interested in being interviewed to email me at geekazine [at] gmail. com. If you are interested, please let me know. I’ll be sending out an email to those who responded shortly.

Made some adjustments to the website CSS so the articles are easier to read. Please let me know if anything doesn’t look right. I want the best experience for you so your feedback is invaluable to me. PLEASE comment!
