Rowkin Bit Charge Wireless Headphones

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: iTunes | Android | RSSWith the iPhone 7’s loss of headphone jack, you might be looking at wireless headphones for your music or movie listening needs. While I was on travel last week, I checked out the Rowkin Bit Charge. This is a Bluetooth headset that will give you about 2 hours of music and recharge in an hour. I can even use this for phone calls and as a headset microphone. While the latency won’t let you create music in Garageband, it will let you listen to music and watch TV or movies without issue. Pairing the headset is easy and it can pair with multiple items. The headset also has a microphone, so it can be used to answer phone calls, talk to Siri, or even record on Facebook Live, YouTube, Periscope and more. I recorded a couple Instagram stories using the headset in...

Panasonic Transmits Data by Touch

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: iTunes | Android | RSS Subscribe: iTunes | Android | RSSTrying the dual live stream today on Facebook and YouTube! For the most part it was successful, with a small audio glitch at the beginning. Glitch only happened for a few seconds, so I left it in the video part. Audio was cut. Panasonic created a device that can turn your body into a data transmission device. You can then send information to others, or to devices with a touch. We’ll look more at this. I also talk about week one of Bell’s Palsy – watch the First 48 Hours of Bell’s Palsy video I posted. Finally, the show will be off the next couple weeks as I am on travel. Bell’s Palsy and my First 48 hours: The Important Facts

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: iTunes | Android | RSSI had a life-defining moment this weekend. It affects my lifestyle, it affects my job, it affects everything. I developed a case of Bell’s Palsy. And although statistics are on my side for recovery, it doesn’t always mean I will fully heal or not have a re-lapse down the road. I’m just glad it wasn’t a stroke. Ok. Can you see what the issue is? MRI on the way! #hospital #geekout A photo posted by Jeffrey Powers (@geekazine) on Oct 1, 2016 at 12:48pm PDT The first 24 hours In hind-sight, I guess it all happened around 11 AM on Friday, September 30, 2016. I came home from a couple clubs where I play and work. I had a weird taste in my mouth – described best as when you burn your tongue. I thought it was the sugary soda I have...

Geekazine New Patreon Page: Be a Part of the Sconnie Geek Nation!

Geekazine has decided to venture into the crowdfunding game by joining Patreon. As we’re approaching 10 years of podcasting and content creation, I have found the last couple years have not been as lucrative as in past. Cancelling a few events I attend for fresh content, I am now in a precarious situation as to the direction of the website and other properties. By joining Patreon, I am asking you – the content viewer – to help out with covering funds for my videos and travel. I have been able to do this for the last 9 years, heading to CES, SXSW, NAB, and more. I have also had some great success with other companies helping in this, but some of the companies are in a recessive year and not able to help out. But I always said that in order to have a funding page like Patreon,...
