While at VMWorld 2012, I talk with Micron and take a look at an SSD technologies. Micron created a PCIe drive that is meant for server blades. These SSD drives are hot-swappable and have a throughput of 3 GB/s (vs. 500 MB SSD drives).
Best part is these drives are hot-pluggable. This helps improve performance by supporting a better infrastructure. This brings flexibility to a server room.
Dell came out with a PowerEdge blade that supports these SSD drives.
