Last week when Google Buzz came out, all the Social Mediates jumped on board like the last boat of the day starting to leave the dock. Instantly, we saw everyone posting “I am Buzzing”, and others rebuilding their Social Media lists. The big names pretty much dominated the Buzz. But it did become an opportunity for a new name or two to get in there. And – as far as I know – Ashton Kutcher is not on Buzz.. Yet.
Two big questions people had about Buzz in the first week – Is Buzz like which Social Media Micro Blogging device, and which one is Buzz going to replace? In this video, we look at Google Buzz, Friend Feed, Twitter and Facebook. Jeffrey talks about what Buzz is close to and gives answers to these two questions.
What do you think? Will Buzz replace Facebook? Friend Feed? Twitter?

Day 2 has a lot of great footage in the South Hall. We also find out some important news about our show from the NBC Universal Stage. We got moved up an hour.
We did the wrapup show of Day 2 with a special guest. Sukhjit Ghag talked about what Sony is displaying this weekend. 3-D technology, blogging and gaming were some of the items in the hall.
We then continued with the wrapup show. Today’s Product of the Day – Dyyno is an online streaming program for professionals. They have paid plans, but also have a free account you can use to try out this great product.

A long time ago, while helping someone set up a component stereo system (remember them?), I remarked that modern life is living with wires.
And it still comes down to wires, whether they are made of metal or silicone.
Wednesday, I was wireless. In fact, my whole street was. A garbage truck tore down the main lines feeding the street, as well as one of the poles they were attached to. It took out the electricity, the landline, and the cable, and it emphasized how wound up with wires our lives have become.
Well, we survived another day and are ready for the upcoming barrage of interviews and video:
8 AM: Planning Meeting Halley Claire joined us and we talked about Blogging and Marketing.
10 AM: Got the Booth set up for interviews with Brian Ignomirello and Chris McCall. Shane Pitman of NeoWin
11:30 AM: Tons of Video Uploading
12:30 PM: Lunch
1:30 PM: Walking the Expo Floor. We talked with many of the vendors around the conference and their products from Rack mount storage to Fiber cabling and even software Programming. Andy, Kara and myself did one – on – one interviews with each vendor.
4 PM: Expo closed until the Reception. We went over to Conference room I for appetizers and live music. Came back in and recorded a couple videos and the wrap up.
6 PM: Interviews with Shane Pitman and Halley Bass. Went over and did some backchannel at the Intel Booth. Tried to guess all the videos on the screen and failed miserably. I’m gonna try again tomorrow.
8 PM: Expo closes. We run through the Wrap up videos.
10 PM: Still working… Will post wrap ups soon.

Copyright is not exactly a tech topic, but it is a topic important to bloggers and techies. Scientific Blogging offers a discussion of the history and interpretation of copyright law in the United States. It can be found here.
A nugget:
The competition between copyright protection and free expression existed long before digital files and the Internet, and Snow reached back more than 150 years to document the history and evolution of the tension between the two. His research revealed that the burden to show whether a copier’s use of expression was fair initially lay with the copyright holder. For more than a century of common law, courts provided a liberal doctrine of fair use by imposing the burden of proof on copyright holders.
We stopped at the NBC Universal Bloggers area and Andy McCaskey talked with Jon and Bill about the Sharp Blogger area. Jon talks about the design of the booth and Bill talks about how NBC Universal has been detrimental to CES.
Best part is that I got to sit down and catch up on my blogs. The connection was fantastic!! We had the Backchannel of the interview up in a matter of minutes.

Well I didn’t expect this to happen, but when we got to CES today, our first order of business was to interview Jon Accarrino with NBCUniversal. What turned out was not only the interview with Jon, but also Bill Hartnett. We talked about their little Blogger lounge and how NBC has contributed to this new media. Andy interviewed the event on the Primary channel, and I took Backchannel video coverage.
The best part is the fact that Jon set me up with a station where I could not only upload the Video in High Speed, but also put up this Blog. Therefore, I am sitting in this comfortable chair connected to a real high speed pipe (300 MB Video was posted in no time flat). Sure beats the 170 minute upload at the Hotel.

Snafu. Freedictionary.com defines it as “A chaotic or confused situation”. The word SNAFU is an acronym, in which most of it I cannot decode here, so I’ll fudge it a bit. Situation Normal All Fouled Up.
If you were to go through a snafu a few years ago with a company, you would most likely grumble to your friends and family and then move on – Little impact on that. However, in this day and age, a Snafu can really come back to hurt. With Social Networking rising 47 percent year to year (according to Nielsen Netratings), this can really give companies a tough time if problems arise. But still, can social networking cause a company hardship because of a single or series of transactions?
