I’m from Wisconsin – Therefore those Brett Favre commercials took a new light. But for others, it simply is an issue everyone faces: What should I buy?

TVMatchmaker.com andCameraMatchMaker.com are two new sites offered by Sears. Both sites will help consumers research new TV or Cameras. Sears has a full line of cameras and televisions sets from various manufactures. Finding a TV is just moments away when you visit the respective sears site.

Todd Cochrane talks with the folks at Sears and how these sites will help out. I think he even got a signed photo from Brett Favre.

2007 – Lulu.com is a site that allows people to publish their own books. Hulu.com is an online video site. Still, Lulu felt that Hulu was way too close to their name, so they decided to file a lawsuit for similarity.

Similarity of what?

Now if you want to go sue someone who is backed by NBC Universal, you have a lot of marbles. Nonetheless, it sounds more like a publicity stunt for Lulu to get their name out. Well, the lawsuit was dropped on Oct. 22, and Hulu.com launched in Beta. Ultimately, by March 12th, 2008, Hulu.com was officially launched.

Apr. 25th, 1996 was the day that Yahoo started putting ads on TV. They ran a spot on David Letterman, Saturday Night Live and episodes of Star Trek asking one question – Do you Yahoo?

The successful ad campaign spawned many a version of that commercial. Ultimately they dropped the question and just had the Yodel “Yahoo!” on the commercials run.

Other items of note: Windows XP64 and Windows server 2003 were released. Dell says they’ll put on XP after the June 30th cut off date and Gateway 2000 drops the ‘2000′. Lots more on the Quickcast.

Reuters reports:

The company is preparing to offer commercial accounts in which corporations and other types of businesses pay a fee to receive an enhanced version of Twitter, a free service that allows people to send short, 140-character text messages to their network of friends.

There were hints that this might be on the way in this radio interview two weeks ago.

This week we have a lot of great history, including the event on Oct. 28th, 1955. William Gates III came into this world. Of course we all know him as the funny man in those Seinfeld commercials. However, he ran a little ole company we like to call “Micro.. Micro..” Wait. What is that called again?

Interestingly enough 30 years later (1985), Bill Gates put Microsoft up for IPO. Other cool history notes – the DMCA is signed, the first Ball Point Pen becomes available and OpenSocial.
