The day after Blogworld, I got a great opportunity to play for the Grand Opening of the Full Compass campus. Full Compass is a full sound and light company for live and recording producers. Their online service sells millions of dollars in equipment a year.

My Band – Trailer Kings – got to enter their studio to record tracks for the live event that happened on Oct 23 – 24th. During this time, I took some video of the studio, and pictures of the tour. The following is a video blog about the visit.

I don’t show off my other passion too much on this site, but I thought I would give you a taste of what I do when I am not being a Social Medeite. I am in a band calle the “Trailer Kings” and we play all around the Midwest.

This video was shot last week at the studio of the new Full Compass Campus. They had a live web event over the weekend and we were part of it. We did 5 songs – This one: Mary Janes’ Last Dance by Tom Petty.

Enjoy!

Not sure how we got on the compass application. Must’ve been talking about the rock climbing application that was out there. At any rate, Clint was not sure if his compass was right, so they set the phones side by side. That is when the hilarity ensued…

The compasses began to change around. If we moved one phone to the other side, the numbers would change. One would say 183 degrees and the other would say 318 (for example). If we moved one iPhone around another, we could cause it to show the interference. Didn’t know that digital compasses could have magnetic polarity issues.

What was the easiest trick was to take one iPhone and hover over the other one. You can see the craziness ensue. However, we also noticed that Clint’s iPhone was a little off balance when he switched over to Maps. It would point him south when it should have pointed him east. Hmmmm… Hope he doesn’t get lost.
