The coolest thing about the LIVE SHOW is you never know who is going to show up. This week started slow, but that all changed when Jeri Ellsworth showed up. Jeri created the Commodore 64 joystick – 30 C64 games on one joystick controller.

We talked about Pinball machines and Video Arcade systems. Jeri was also building a new studio, so we talked about ways to make the room less noisey. Jeri even talked about creating a new video capture system.

We also had Art from twoguystech.com, as well as Brokenshovel and husker_fan. All in all another great show.

Comcast has been riddled in the news lately. Bandwidth caps, overage fees all for simply surfing the internet. It was a Commodore Vic 20. We were up North at our Grandma’s house for Christmas in 1981. Our cousins had a Vic20 and we played some cool games. When we got home at the end of the week, we opened our presents and low and behold, we had a Vic 20. I swear I got up early every day of Winter break to play on this new machine. I did have to fight for use with the rest of my family, but I think I got some good time on it.

GPS Fake Picture
Fakes. Throughout time we’ve had to deal with those who want to pass something off as an original. Sometimes we are not fooled. Other times we go years thinking that it’s the real thing until some new technology tells us different.
In the last week I’ve seen many fake photos of different items – most notably the Large GPS picture and Windows 7 screenshots. There is even a video out there that supposedly displays Windows 7 functionality. While impressive, it makes me wonder if someone is trying to pass these off to make a quick buck?

The story of Exploding laptops is not a new one. The Lithium battery in your laptop expands to the point where it breaks the encasement. Dell, Sony and IBM ended up recalling a series of batteries to prevent computer loss.

Today scientists announced they had made a solid, non-flammable polymer to replace the liquid electrolyte that is used to make the batteries. The science is new, and wont see the light of the public eye for 3 to 5 years, mainly because the polymer needs work to hold a longer charge. However, will this help the laptop not explode?
