In my post on Tasting Linux, I mentioned Live CDs as a way of sticking your toe in the Linux pool to see whether it might be fun to dive in.
I thought it would be fun to show some pictures of what a Knoppix Live CD boot looks like. This is just an intro, not a detailed HOWTO.
Well, it’s day 1 and we have walked through half the Sands convention center with cameras in hand. Todd, Andy, Andy and myself took the morning to record the first half of the floor. We found some pretty interesting booths and did some great interviews. I am downloading some of the content as we speak.
We also talked to a couple companies that dealt with e-readers, LED lighting systems, Mogulus, TV-armor and one of the products I was waiting for in Vuzix (oLED technology). With the four man team, we were able to get some great content.

As a kid I had this really cool TV. it was a Bentley with a 5″ Black and White screen and ran on AC power or 9 “D” batteries. It went all the way up to Channel 83, so if I hooked it up to the cable today, I would get the Big 10 network, MTV, and Disney. Yeah, Black and White, but sometimes you have to go old school.
Joost is no Bentley, but they might have finally pulled into a niche here. Last week they made an iPhone app for the Joost service. It’s not the best thing in the world, but it’s better than nothing.

As a consultant, I use my own equipment all the time. When I get to a specific client, sometimes I am asked to sign a waiver that states I will not take company data. I sign it because I am not going to ruin any relationship by walking out with secrets or customer lists.
Data nowadays can be controlled. We at the Quickcast have talked about how that can happen many a time. However, the most important thing in a work environment is to make sure the data stays within the company – even after a person has left. Citrix Systems has given Employees a bonus payment to buy their own laptop for corporate use. While it does give advantage, could the company lose control of the data?

The Economy is in Danger. Banks and Institutions are in a financial pickle. With the fall of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac because of bad business decisions and a Blind eye to investors building more homes than Americans need, financial institutions could collapse upon themselves. To protect their money, they could make it harder for Businesses to get loans.
