Apple iPad – The Rumor becomes Reality

Well, after weeks of anticipation, the Apple iPad has become reality. The 1.5 lb, 9.7 inch device with a 1 GB Apple A4 processor in 16, 32 and 64 GB models. It’s an e-reader, it’s a photo book, it’s a video display and a lot more. All for a price that blows away Kindle. Sony Kindles Competition (Updated)

Bloomberg and Reuters report that Sony plans to complete with Amazon’s Kindle. From Bloomberg: The $399 device, called the Daily Edition, will be available in December, Steve Haber, president of Sony’s reader unit, said at an event in New York yesterday. The model will use the third-generation network of AT&T Inc., the second-largest U.S. wireless carrier. Sony, seeking to rebound from two straight quarterly losses, aims to tap growing demand for digital books and electronic publications.
