You might remember the products. You might remember the hype. Then, you are tooling down highway 41 years later and all of a sudden you think to yourself – “Hey, whatever happened to…”
Failed ideas. Maybe it was a great idea, but wasn’t made right, or design errors brought it down. Maybe it was just a bad product. Well, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and see if we cannot repeat these errors again.
Oh yeah, why 16? Well because we could.
The Computer Watch: Whether it was the Ruputer, the MSN Direct ‘Smart’ Watches, the Timex Data Link Watch or another gadget watch – BTW – I remember having a “Transformers watch”. It was awesome!

According to the Register, Microsoft has issued a substantial reward for the author of the Conflicker (or Downadup) worm. Story here. More about Conflicker here.
Full Disclosure: I’ve found that stories in The Register need to be read critically, not because The Register makes stuff up, but, in a choice between snark and accuracy, it leans towards snark. Given that, it’s still one of my favorite websites.

Veterans Day. The day where we remember the men and women who have fought for us and subsequently died for our freedom. From the Civil War to today, Americans have given their life for their country. We remember that, and we honor that.
Technology and War are two things that go hand in hand. The newest advances will give the advantage swiftly and sometimes without prejudice. Whether it was the first Bomber Planes in WW1, the first use of mobile communications or the nuclear assault on Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945. Each advantage turns War into a new game. Whoever is on top of their technology game can turn a battle to their advantage.
Remember the movie “Small Soldiers” (1998)? Action figures with a smart chip embedded in their systems start battling each other once activated. Today we have Robots that do things like disarm bombs and unmanned vehicles that can do recon or a host of other dangerous activities. Unfortunately for a large price at times.
