It was a Double Whammy this week. Earlier, one of my favorite play websites – Bitstrips – celebrated a 1 year anniversary. At the same time, Thomas – author over at Dorkazine – celebrated a birthday. It was a lot more than a year and we won’t say how old he is, only that he achieved the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything (If you ever read Hitchhiker, you’ll know).

Happy Anniverthday

The call is made. For years now we knew we couldn’t keep living like this, yet, we still did. Now (for America), the reality is coming light a freight train toward a brick wall. We keep pulling those brakes, yet we’re not stopping.

Ever since the first windmill, we have been trying to pull energy from resources to make our jobs easier. Powering a light, running a car or using a laptop. Energy is a way of life, and we take it for granted way too often.

Recently, there have been some who have jumped out of the gate to say they have an energy source that would help. There’s even an inventor that says he has created a device that will give free energy which he plans to unveil it on June 20th. With all those claims, we still seem to be stuck in the same conundrum we have been for the last 20 years. Will we ever break free and have a clean, reusable energy for our daily routines?

According to German mathematician and astronomer Johannes Kepler, his theory was that the Universe was created on April 27th 4977 BC. Kepler was fascinated with theories of planetary ordering. Kepler did a lot of scientific research and calculations of planetary motion. He also worked in the field of optics – especially the human eye and how it produces sight.

Kepler lived from 1571 to 1630. Although some of his theories were later disproved, he definitely inspired many: such as Sir Issac Newton. Some of his theories were based on the idea that the Earth was the center of this Galaxy, not the Sun.

Of course the Big Bang theory devised in the 20th century had disproved Kepler’s theory by 13.7 billion years. Still, we need something to hold on to, sing Happy Birthday, wear cheezy party hats and bake a cake over – only so Milton can continue to pass the cake until everyone has some, but he didn’t get any last year and wants to have cake this year and…..

Anywho, even though this is most likely not the birthday of the Galaxy’s inception, we may never know the official day. So today is just as good as any to celebrate. Just as long as I get an end piece….

Happy Birthday Universe
