Flip Phones Lost Appeal?
Yahoo - go, or get off the pot.
Leeching the WiFi? How to stop it.
Back in my last place I lived at, I set up a unique WiFi system. One WiFi was protected and set up for me to use. I had another WiFi set up for public use - The connection throttled. The idea was if someone needed to connect and get directions or get on the internet quick, they could. I’ve been in that situation before.
Maryland Tried to introduce a bill to make it unlawfull to connect to anothers’ WiFi. If caught one could get fined unless they are caught trying to hack into a persons’ computer in which they will be fined $10 thousand and 10 years in prison.
Last week, that bill was shot down. It’s a good thing, too. The last thing we need is a politician telling us how to connect to the internet. Granted, it’s sad that some have to cheat the system by glauming onto anothers’ internet conection, however, like in my earlier case, I gave the people an option.
There have been cases of people who are found guilty of using anothers’ internet connection. A couple cases were because the user then hacked into the computer system.
Protecting your wireless is a simple step - but you will have to remember some passwords to get in. There are some other simple steps to let people use the internet and protect your information. And maybe someday that won’t be an issue - we’ll all just be on the same wireless carrier anywhere in the world.
The right to keep your internet connection open is important. Keep in mind you might have to explain actions if someone is downloading files, or trying to hack into NATO on your internet connection.
